DISCOVERY - One day experience
Discovery experience is designed so you can do a test dive and be able to find out if you will like to do the hall PADI OPEN WATER DIVER course. The experience takes place in confine waters that can be a swimming pool or in shallow water in the ocean. The first part is an explanation of the parts of the gear and how they work, together with some skills necessary to do a safe dive. As part of the teaching we perform the 4 skills explained before and necessary for a safe dive.
These skills allow you to learn some safety techniques and how to control any situation under water. At the same time the diver starts getting use to the gear and felling more confident. This session takes place in shallow water and under a controlled environment so you can learn step by step.
Ones the new divers fell confident and have everything under control we take them to the diving site use for this activity and for open Water Courses. These are boat dives, but if the client wants to do the dive from shore we have sites for this special request. The best diving sites are near Islas Tortuga. Total time of the immersion is of about 45 minutes, depending on the use of air, and the depth is of about 4 meters or 12 feet.
Some times divers have the wrong idea that going deeper is better and that you will see more, but the best is to dive with someone that knows the area so they can take you to the best places, and some times this sites are shallow areas where colors are nicer and the dive is safer as well. Ones finished this activity the student can decide to continue through the all OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE that will take 3 days (intensive).

SCUBA DIVING TOURS
One day scuba diving tour
Our tour starts from the main beach inside Curú Wild Life Refuge at 9am. We rent gear and the most important of all is that our crew is locals (ticos) who know better the area and the underwater word and it`s marine life. All immersions take place from the boat and around the Islas Tortuga. The boat ride takes about 10 minutes to the diving site, our staff assist you getting ready and an underwater guide shows you all the marine life and helps you during the dive.
The bottom time is of about 45 minutes, depending on the use of air. Second immersion takes place on the south of the Islas Tortuga, on a different site from the first. There`s about 15 different locations with diferent characteristics such as depth, visibility and marine life. We offer one day training for those who want to experience for the fist time diving in the Pacific Ocean and the OPEN WATER certification in 3 days (intensive).

Open Water Diving Course (Basic)
Our diving courses for Open Water or level 1 are at any time of the year, this are courses with the standards and certified by PADI. The full course or Open Water can be finisht within three days (intensive), or on the time the student wishes, depending on the time devote to this activity.
The groups are small; it takes at least two students to start a course at any time or the year. The site or base is Curú Wild Life Refuge, near Paquera, but if you contact us we can quote this training at a locations other than this. This courses are divided in three parts: theory, confine water and open water.
Open Water Course includes (Basic)

The PADI´S eLearning system allows you to start the theory part of the Open Water Diver Course from the confort or your home or office and permform the practical part with us here in the Islas Tortuga.
It is a one-day course for begginners (does not require the person to be certified). You make the trainning on the beach and in confine waters, getting use to the diving gear and learn some skills, then you will be taken to a immersion of about 40 or 45 minutes to a maximum depth or 20 feet (6 meters). Ones finished this course and if you want to continue though the Open Water course, we will recognize this Discovery as part of the Open Water Course, so you pay for the difference.
